QueerCuts: Vic Horvath

Vic Horvath

As a huge music nerd and singer of songs myself, I always have a long list of musicians I want to talk about, whose songs I want to shout from the rooftops because they’re just so good. Since I started writing for Strange Fire Vic Horvath has been on that list for me. I have been just so excited to post the video, let them know, and then just keep on looking forward to their new album which was supposed to come out in 2019.

So I was pretty shocked to find out then that this person I’d seen perform at the infamous Hootenanny at Logan’s Tavern of the Damned up in Victoria, BC, this soft smiling, completely charming, and incredibly supportive fellow musician, passed away suddenly on August 18, 2018 due to medical complications.

Boldy making music, playing shows, and making it all their own as a non-binary queer singer / songwriter – Vic Horvath and their songs meant a lot to the musical community of Victoria – check out the video below, and fall in love with music that I wish I had brought to you sooner.
