By Abel Muñoz

The Long Road Festival, which celebrates country, Americana and roots music, returns to Leicestershire, UK in 2022, and it’s heavy on the queer contingent. This three day camping event will take place the 26th to the 28th of August on the grounds of the stunning Stanford Hall estate. Among queer-identified acts are Brandy Clark, Sarah Shook & the Disarmers, and Della Mae.

This festival, established in 2018, has announced their first round of artists – “the best in Southern rock, country, Americana, folk and pop.” This lineup includes talent from both the US and the UK. Announced acts include: The Cadillac Three, Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives, LOCASH, Lauren Alaina, Lindsay Ell, Sara Evans, Sarah Darling, Cassadee Pope, Sunny Sweeney, Kyle Daniel, Lilly Hiatt, Candi Carpenter, Whitney Rose, Morganway, Jade Helliwell, Jess Thristan, Brandy Clark, Gretchen Peters, Sarah Shook & the Disarmers, Della Mae, Hudson Taylor, The Ghost of Paul Revere, Callum Pitt, Rissi Palmer’s Color Me Country, Jonathan Terrell, Lauren Morrow, Flats & Sharps and Noble Jacks. As the festival draws closer, more acts will be added to this stellar lineup – stay tuned.

Beyond its lineup of talented artists, The Long Road Festival will also appeal to enthusiasts of American muscle cars and vintage motorcycles.  It will also feature an “array of vendors who cater to craft beer drinkers and foodies with a taste for famous southern hospitality.”
