Paisley Fields Announces Album, Releases Single

“Electric Park Ballroom” LP Lands June 5th, Single “Stay Away From My Man” Out Now

On June 5th, Paisley Fields will drop “Electric Park Ballroom”, the second full-length by the Brooklyn-based queer country artist. But you can catch a preview today: the rollicking single “Stay Away From My Man.

By turns tender and funny, Fields writes songs that are mindful of tradition, but deeply informed by his singular background.

Raised in the Midwest, Fields spent his teenage years playing piano at church, detasseling corn, and pulling shifts at Dollar Tree. He ultimately skipped town to become a world traveler, a proficient taiko drummer, and a Manhattan piano bar survivor who has co-written songs for “RuPaul’s Drag Race” stars (“Purse First” and “Feeling is Mutual”). Fields is also a touring member of the pioneering queer country outfit Lavender Country and can, in a pinch, read your tarot.

The stories on “Electric Park Ballroom” are his, but the feelings they convey — love, loneliness, and lust — are universal. You can get a taste from his new single, “Stay Away From My Man,” a co-write with trans axemaster Mya Byrne, out now on Spotify. While you’re at it, check out the video for another “Electric Park Ballroom” track, Ride Me Cowboy,” – it’ll get you grinnin’.
