Singer-Songwriter, Micah Woods Releases Folky-Pop Song “Love Like That”

Driven by a folky acoustic guitar and a soft poppy voice, is the talented singer-songwriter Micah Woods. Based in NYC, this singer-songwriter has been working hard to develop a unique style that can reach the masses. The lyrical content of the melodically catchy song “Love Like That” is universal in the sense that Micah Woods speaks openly about his relationship that he is debating ending. Things  in the relationship are becoming more difficult and there is a toxic codependent nature. The instrumentation and production of the song cleverly combines elements of indie rock, pop, and Americana to create a unique sound that becomes quite addictive to the listeners ears. This song could be easily liked by anyone that enjoyed music that has a soul.

Micah Woods cites his main musical influences as John Mayer, Joni Mitchell, Gavin James, Ed Sheeran, Tori Kelly, Solange, Ben Howard, Frank Ocean, Justin Timberlake, Michael Jackson, Tracy Chapman, & Ms. Lauryn Hill.

“Being the gay, black kid at a mostly white christian school led to me feeling constantly left out and different. It took listening to artists like Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, and Michael Jackson to realize my “differences” were beautiful and I had been given a gift with music. I learned to live and breathe music and found my voice through songwriting.”
– Micah Woods
