Announcing CQ Gives

Monthly Giving Program Kicks off With True Colors United

Cyndi Lauper, co-founder of True Colors United

Country Queer is pleased to announce our giving program, CQ Gives. Each month, beginning in February, we will select an LGBTQ-focused non-profit to receive a portion of the proceeds from our merch sales.

This month, we’re proud to be contributing to True Colors United, whose mission is to “implement innovative solutions to youth homelessness that focus on the unique experiences of LGBTQ young people.” In other words: helping queer homeless kids.

“In the United States, 4.2 million youth experience homelessness each year, with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ2+) youth 120% more likely to experience homelessness than their non-LGBTQ2+ peers. True Colors United is committed to changing that.” True Colors United was founded in 2008 by Cyndi Lauper, Lisa Barbaris, and Johnny Podell.

CQ Gives will donate a portion of all proceeds from our February merch sales to True Colors United, so your purchases will not only help with queer visibility, they’ll go toward helping homeless LGBTQ2+ youth. (Bonus: you’ll look hella cool.)
