QueerCuts: Margaret Belton

One of the things that I love about #queercountry is how so many of us veer towards the iconic sounds of traditional country – and no one is more traditional than Patsy Cline. So of course on #DykeMarch Saturday I had to spotlight Margaret Belton – lead singer and founder of The Patsychords – a Patsy Cline tribute band queering these great old love songs and keeping the spirit of classic country alive with intoxicating vocals, impeccable style, and a sly wink that makes these great old tunes feel as fresh and modern as the day Patsy herself recorded them. If you haven’t listened to The Patsychords yet, pour yourself a tall glass of something cold and get ready for a real summer treat with their official video for Lovesick Blues.
