Country Queer

Lifting up LGBTQ+ voices in country and Americana.

Queer Country Quarterly, the Queer Country Show of the Quarter(!)

Clockwise: Karen Pittelman, Cindy Emch, Mya Byrne

CQ longtime pals Cindy Emch and Mya Byrne are teaming up with Queer Country Quarterly founder Karen Pittelman (Karen & the Sorrows) for the summer edition of QCC, to be held online this Friday, July 31 at 10pm Eastern, 7pm Pacific.

A powerful lineup of songwriters whose vulnerability and vocal prowess promises many a tender-hearted moment – a night of music that’s just what the queer country doctor ordered during these tumultuous times.

Award-winning songwriter Mya Byrne started her solo folk-Americana career in 2012 and has settled in San Francisco by way of NYC, where she plays epic shows with the Homobiles, Lavender Country, and the Secret Emchy Society, as well as under her own name.

Oakland’s own “First Lady of Queer County” Cindy Emch brings a brassy and rowdy enthusiasm to her road-tested songs about love, friendship, and the magic of dive bars and late nights.

Karen Pittelman sings exquisitely crafted old school country songs that have been loved and lauded by places like Rolling Stone, the AV Club, No Depression, and more.
