CQ Presents: Lavender Country at The Hideout, Chicago
Cosmic Country Showcase on April 11th and 12th
Country Queer, along with 312unes and The Hideout, will be presenting two full evenings of Cosmic Country featuring the original queer country band, Lavender Country, fronted by the inimitable Patrick Haggerty.
Join us on Saturday, April 11th, at 9pm, and Sunday, April 12th, at 8pm, at The Hideout, Chicago, for a full evening of entertainment. Other performers include Chicago’s own Andrew Sa, Alex Grelle, Mister Wallace, Lawrence Peters, and Julia Miller.
As Sully Davis of The Hideout says, “In the Cosmic Country there are some folks who deserve an eternal place among the stars. One such being is Patrick Haggerty. His life as an outspoken gay rights activist began years ago, but he was only more recently acknowledged for the brave statement that his band Lavender Country made as the first openly gay country band back in 1973. “
Tickets for the Saturday show are available here; tickets for the Sunday show are available here. Hurry – this is gonna sell out.
We want to thank Sully Davis at The Hideout for giving us the opportunity to present our first show beyond our own Northern California backyard. We know there are a LOT of country queers in Chicagoland, and we look forward to seeing you there!
