Indigo Girls Announce Summer Tour & VEEPS Streaming Special
#LesbianVisibilityWeek seems likes the perfect time to celebrate our trailblazing Indigo Girls who continue to stay busy, touring in support of their latest, Look Long, which was released in Spring of 2020. The pair is also readying the premiere of a streaming concert special, Look Long: Together, for May 8th on the VEEPS platform.
The new tour dates cap off a year’s worth of shows that found the duo braving pandemic life on the road in mid-2021, insisting that the show must go on despite questionable safety. Now joined by an amazing list of co-headliners—Rickie Lee Jones, Brandi Carlile, Neko Case, and Sarah McLachlan, each at different gigs in select cities (see below)— their warm weather 2022 schedule reveals that they saved the best for last.
With an equally thrilling roster of openers featuring Katie Pruitt, Nicole Atkins, Danielle Howle, Becky Warren, Ruthie Foster, and Lucy Wainwright Roche, these gigs promise to be the reassuring musical event of the season. And bear in mind, 35 years into their career with some 16 million records sold, Indigo Girls still change their setlists each and every night, making sure that the fans who come out again and again are always treated to a totally unique experience.
The Look Long: Together streaming special also offers something unique, as it features the first live performances of material from the album in a full band setting with the musicians that played in the studio. Described as, “… a career-spanning concert special featuring hits, rarities, and for the first time, full-band live renditions of songs from 2020’s Look Long album,” the film also includes as-yet-unnamed special guests, revealing interview segments between songs, and home movie clips.
