Amy Ray to Host “Georgia On My Mind” Benefit Feat. Country Queers

The Georgia Music Foundation announced its 9th annual “Georgia On My Mind” benefit, hosted by the legendary Amy Ray (Indigo Girls) and hit songwriter Brent Cobb (cuts by Luke Bryan, Kellie Pickler, Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, The Oak Ridge Boys, and more.) The show is scheduled for May 10th at the iconic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

Amythyst Kiah and Katie Pruitt, certified country queers who have frequently graced these pages, will contribute their singular talents to the cause.

It also features noted allies Butch Walker, Elizabeth Cook, Kevn Kinney, and Drive-by Truckers’ Patterson Hood, as well as Blackberry Smoke’s Charlie Starr, bluegrass virtuoso Alison Brown, Jontavious Willis, The Lone Bellow, and O.N.E. the Duo. World-class musicians Josh Day, Brian Allen, Scott Patton, Jeff Fielder, and Adrian Carter will anchor the house band for the show.

The May 10th concert will mark the event’s return to the Mother Church of Country Music after two years as a virtual event. “This show is a very special offering of some of our state’s finest artists and some of our neighbors, all bringing their gifts together to help us raise money for the Georgia Music Foundation,” said Ray.

Proceeds benefit Georgia Music Foundation and its Georgia Music Grants, which fund music programs at schools, after-school programs and summer camps. Tickets go on sale at ryman.com on Friday, March 4.
