CQ Corral: Lisa Marie – “Bayou Groove”

By Christopher Treacy

We so rarely get such swampy goodness in the CQ inboxes, we simply couldn’t resist this submission from Boston-area blues mama Lisa Marie! With gritty pipes that bring Terry Garthwaite to mind (from one-time Bay Area sensation Joy of Cooking for anyone scratching their head going ‘who?!’), Lisa Marie is serving up a hearty helping of jambalaya with a side of cleansing perspiration… you can just feel the sweat trickling down listening to the slide guitar and snoopy harp, and it feels pretty dang good. Pull up a chair and dig in!
